World Book Day!

This week the children threw themselves into World Book Day and came into school wearing some amazing costumes! After taking it in turns and explaining to the rest of the class who their favourite character from their chosen storybook was, the children had a go at solving some maths problems involving the character Jeffery from the Oliver Jeffers storybook-The Hueys.

In the afternoon the children were very lucky to have children from Sycamore class come and read a story to them. The children were very excited as they waited in anticipation for the arrival of the 'big junior children' and chose their favourite book to share with their 'reading buddy'

The children also took part in a school book swap and brought in any unwanted books to swap. After looking through the variety of books to choose from (with the help of year 6!) the children picked their favourite book to take home.
